I have worked with those who have had their dying spouse encourage them to find someone new.
Some will decide never to be in another relationship.
Others may want a relationship but are afraid of getting attached to someone new and the relationship not working out, resulting in yet another loss.
As our pain from our loss decreases over time, we decide to become re-involved with life.
Many may begin by meeting with friends, volunteering or joining clubs.
It is interesting that when people are in mourning, others feel it is somehow acceptable to judge and criticize them for the they mourn.
